Dodge showed, perhaps, its most beautiful car in recent years. It is called Dart, and it is based on Alfa Romeo Giulietta. This guarantees us impeccable control, because Alfa cars have always been famous for this feature.
For the Dodge company the new Dart is not just a car, which replaces the not too successful Caliber. This is a real hope for a brighter future. It is Dart in which are implemented all management ideas to revive the company. This is a new design and higher quality interior, and an Italian platform with engines – in the future it is supposed to be provided additional eight new Dodge cars on Fiat platform.
Under the hood of Dodge Dart series will be placed unusual for the U.S. market small engines – in addition to aggregates volume of 2.0 and 2.4 liter (160 hp and 184 hp accordingly) will appear an engine capacity of 1.4 liters. However, U.S. residents do not need to make a wry face. After all, it will be the engine of Fiat 500 Abarth, which has a very explosive character and a power of 160 hp.
The engines will be equipped with mechanic or 6-speed Fiat automatic transmission, but in 2013, modern nine-step automatic transmission will appear by the German company ZF.
